Data Protection Policy / Statement

The Society is fully committed to protecting the data and privacy of all its members, in accordance with the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) 2018. Information about our members and other individuals will only be retained in line with the regulations in order to provide you, as a member with our regular newsletters, publications and annual membership renewals. Personal data will be collected, recorded, stored safely and securely and will not be disclosed to any third party. The lawful and correct treatment of personal information is critical to our success and to maintaining the confidence of our members. The Society is committed to protecting your data and privacy:-
• the data we collect from you is: Name, address, e-mail address and contact numbers
• keeping members and other individuals personal data up to date and confidential
• retaining personal data only for the time period required
• we will always keep your personal information safe and will never give it or sell it to any third parties
• adhering to the regulations and related procedures to ensure that all committee members who have access to any personal data held by the society are fully aware of and abide by their duties under GDPR If you no longer want us to hold your data you can request for your data to be erased. You have the right to request that we amend or correct your data, and you can ask for your data to be removed. We will hold your personal information for as long as we have a reason to do so, which generally means as long as you remain a member of the society. If we do not have any requirements to keep this, then we will remove it. This Privacy Policy was updated in May 2018. We may update it from time to time.
